BOSTON CREAM PIE

Faz uns dias foi o aniversário do meu sogro e eu queria fazer um bolo diferente, fugir do tradicional. Nessas ocasiões a Martha Stewart sempre vem para me resgatar! Dando uma rápida pesquisada no seu site achei esse bolo delicioso, fácil e rápido de fazer. A receita me deixou com medo pois é meio esquisita: o leite e a manteiga tem de ser fervidos e misturados com o resto dos ingredientes no final. Quando achava que não daria certo, a massa começou a ficar "normal" e o resultado foi um bolo super fofo e ligeiro. O recheio é creme de confeitero e a cobertura, um ganache de chocolate semi-amargo. Achei uma combinação perfeita!

Some days ago it was my father in-law birthday and I wanted to make a new, different cake. Those are the moments when Martha Stewart comes to the rescue!!! After a quick visit to her site, I found this delicious and easy to make cake. At first, the recipe looked kind of weird: it asked to boil the butter and milk together and add it to the cake mix at the very end. Just when I thought it was going to be a real disaster, the dough started to look normal again and I ended up making a very fluffy and light cake. It was filled with vanilla pastry cream and covered with a semi-sweet chocolate ganache. It was a great combination!

O LAÇO DA MINNIE / MINNIE'S BOW COOKIES

Esses biscoitos foram uma encomenda para o 4to aniversário da Sara e a Sofia, umas gêmeas lindas e muito especiais. O tema da festa foi a Minnie Mouse, nesse caso, as Minnies rosa e vermelha. Fiquei muito feliz pois elas e seus pais amaram os biscoitos!

These cookies were made for the 4th birthday party of Sara and Sofia, two beautiful and special twin sisters. The party theme was Minnie Mouse. In fact, there were two Minnies: one pink and one red. I was very happy to know that both girls and their parents loved the cookies!
